I recently spoke with a Senior Product Manager. We were discussing about how they hire for a Product Manager.
He was telling me about the 3-5 Interview rounds, and each round has a specific focus. In some rounds, they ask about product thinking or go-to-market strategy.
In the first round, they typically ask about the candidate's experience and verify that it is sufficient to proceed to the second round.
After every round, the interviewer assigns marks to each question. One important strategy is to review and prepare answers to the questions previously asked by the company during interviews — this can significantly increase your chances of being selected by the management.
You might receive the same questions in your interview, and if you do, it will work to your advantage.
If you need any help becoming a Product Manager, please feel free to message me. I would love to help you.

Gaurav I agree with your point. But, do you think the industry to ready yet to give interview opportunities to non MBA grads or someone looking to transition into PM roles. I’ve come across some JD’s that clearly mention MBA is a must. What is your take on this?
