Last Friday at 6 PM: Email Subject: "Important Company Update - All Hands Meeting at 7 PM" CEO on the call: "Due to market conditions and strategic restructuring, we're making some tough decisions to ensure our company's future." Means: We're laying off 300 people to hit our quarterly targets. But here's the best part... Same CEO's LinkedIn post from 6 months ago: "Our people are our greatest asset. We're not just colleagues, we're FAMILY." Same CEO's LinkedIn post yesterday: "Sometimes families have to make difficult choices for the greater good. Wishing our departing team members all the best in their future endeavors. " Meanwhile: → CEO's salary: ₹15 crores/year (unchanged) → Executive bonuses: ₹50 crores (approved last month) → Employee severance: 1 month salary → HR sending termination emails: "Please return your laptop by Monday" Real families don't fire their members during "tough market conditions." But hey, at least they called it "strategic restructuring" instead of layoffs. Much more family-friendly. Makes sense.
