Technical PMs are becoming extinct, and that's good. The PM role is evolving faster than most of us understand. While I was obsessing over API architectures and database optimisation, non-technical PMs were building products users actually love. 5 Skills That Matter More Than Technical Knowledge in 2025: 5️. Ability to understand user pain points through research, interviews, and behavioural data. Technical skills don't teach you why users abandon your product. 4️.  Connect product features to business outcomes. Know which metrics drive company valuation and how product decisions impact those numbers. 3️. Understand competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer willingness to pay. Technical PMs build better engines; business PMs pick better destinations. 2️. Influence without authority across sales, marketing, and executive teams. Technical expertise doesn't help you convince the CEO to prioritise your roadmap. 1️.  Use AI tools for technical analysis while focusing human intelligence on strategy, creativity, and relationship building. The hard truth: Engineering knowledge is becoming commoditised by AI tools. ChatGPT can explain technical trade-offs. It can't understand customer emotions or market opportunities. The future belongs to PMs who think like entrepreneurs, not engineers. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿, 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲. 𝗜’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆.
