A close friend of mine got a package of 22 LPA.
I asked him, “Did you negotiate?”
He said “No”.
Because he told me that they might not hire me if I start talking a lot about salary, and they may think I am greedy.
He hesitated, “What if they withdraw the offer letter?”.
When my friend joined the company, he later discovered that the same role was being offered at around 30 LPA.
I have always had a rule that if you can gather three offer letters, then it will be beneficial for you because you then have options to select the right company, and you are in a better position to negotiate as well.
Many times, I have seen people choose the wrong company just because they don’t have options.
